Currently emeritus professor of internal medicine and nephrology, former head of nephrology Al Azhar university. He is immediate past president of the Arab society of nephrology and renal transplantation ASNRT, and ASNRT Fellowship in Clinical Transplantation Academic Lead. Former president of the Egyptian society of nephrology and transplantation ESNT. He currently holds chair of ESNT clinical nephrology chapter. He has interest in adequacy of dialysis and vascular calcification with 32 publications. He is a member of ISN & ERA-EDTA. Has been on various boards for nephrology education as well as several steering committees. Has been strongly indulged in nephrology education in Egypt through founding an outreach program and the virtual online ESNT Academy.
Dr Ali Abu-Alfa is a tenured Professor of Medicine, and Chairperson of the Department of Internal Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB), and Professor Adjunct at Yale University School of Medicine, Section of Nephrology. He is the Director for the Human Research Protection Program at AUB. He is the immediate past Head of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at AUB.
He is the current chair for the International Society of Nephrology - Renal Disaster Preparedness Working Group. He is also the founding Chair for the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis-Middle East Chapter (ISPD). He completed a 3-year term as member of the KDIGO Executive committee in Dec 2018. He is a past President of the Lebanese Society of Nephrology and Hypertension.

Dr. Mohamed Yahya Alseiari serves as Consultant Transplant Nephrologist at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi. Since 2023, he has been the Chair for the Transplant Institute at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company.
After completing his Internal Medicine training at St. Elizabeth Hospital, affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Dr. Alseiari pursued his education in various prestigious institutions. He obtained a Clinical Decision Making and Medical Informatics fellowship from Tufts University, a Nephrology Fellowship from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Alseiari holds American Board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
As a dynamic figure in the regional Renal Transplant field, Dr. Alseiari actively contributes his expertise to advancing transplant services within the UAE. A passionate reader and medical technology aficionado, his research interests encompass Decision Modeling, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning applications in Medicine and renal care.
Dr Nada Alshatti is a highly accomplished clinician and academic with a deep expertise in diagnostic and investigative immunology. She serves as the Head of the Immunology and Transplant Lab at kuwait cancer control center and as the Director of Medical Laboratories at Al-Rashid Allergic Diseases Center. In addition, Dr Nada is the program director of the Clinical Immunology Diagnostics Program at Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialization.
Dr Nada is also an Executive Elected Board Member of the Arabian Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenomics (ARSHI), contributing to the regional advancement in Immunogenomics and transplantation field

I have had a long clinical experience since 1993 and worked at various hospitals and countries. I covered both general internal medicine and renal medicine patients at both acute and chronic presentations. I worked in endocrinology and diabetes care and diabetic center for years before joining nephrology. My interest in diabetes has been in my student time with great dedication to clinical and research components and the number of publications and meetings.
We regularly review cases for kidney transplantation, follow our transplanted patients very closely, and manage various medical problems that are associated with their diseases and transplants. In addition, I review patients as referrals from various medical, surgical, and psychiatric departments with various diagnostic and management challenges.
Also, we managed many patients in acute dialysis within and outside the intensive care units. We have regular daily morning meetings with acute medical intake units. We have twice weekly ground round meetings of our entire unit in patients. We held a regular weekly journal club on the latest updates in renal medicine. Furthermore, we have monthly histopathology meetings to discuss all biopsy cases. We have a nephrology forum meeting once every two months. In addition, we discuss any concerns about patients from outpatient clinics during the ground-round meetings.
I have a great interest in clinical work, health system organization and management, education, and research. I have a lot of experience in clinical education for students, junior doctors, nurses, and paramedics. I have a very good background in research since 1995 which resulted in many publications. I participate in quality assurance practices at various levels of clinical and administrative levels and departments.
In addition to my work in the medical department as a Physician/Nephrologist, I regularly have meetings with vascular surgeons, urologists, and ICU staff regarding the management of patients with acute and chronic kidney diseases. Also, I regularly review patients in general surgical words, urology, vascular words, and gynecological words. We held regular meetings to discuss the issues of transplantation and patients’ admission and transplant list.
Professor Khalid Alhasan is a distinguished pediatric nephrologist and researcher, currently serving as a Professor of Pediatrics at College of Medicine, King Saud University and a Consultant Renal Transplant Physician at the Organ Transplant Center of Excellence, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center. He is also the President of the Saudi Society of Nephrology and Transplantation.
Dr. Alhasan graduated from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia and completed his Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship and Kidney Transplant Fellowship at BC Children’s Hospital, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He has held prominent positions, including Chairman of the Pediatric Department at King Saud University (2017-2021) and Counselor for the International Pediatric Nephrology Association (2017-2022).
An active contributor to the field, Dr. Alhasan serves as an Associate Editor for the Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation and the Journal of Nature and Science of Medicine, and is on the editorial board of the Asian Journal of Pediatric Nephrology. He is also a reviewer for several esteemed medical journals, including Kidney International, Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric Transplantation Journals
With over 125 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Alhasan's research focuses on nephrotic syndrome, Renal replacement therapy ,aHUS, critical care nephrology, and renal genetic disease. His contributions to clinical trials and practice guidelines underscore his commitment to advancing nephrology.
Dr Levin is a Professor of Medicine, Head, Division of Nephrology at the University of British Columbia, and Consultant nephrologist at Providence Health Care / St Paul’s Hospital, in Vancouver Canada.
She is the Executive Director of the BC Renal Agency, which oversees the care, planning and budgets for Kidney services in the province of British Columbia
She is active in international activities across the spectrum of kidney activities, and has served as in leadership roles at the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), as President (2015-17), and is Chair of the ISN ACT (Advancing clinical Trials) Committee. She was one of the founding members of the Declaration of Istanbul Custodian Group (DICG), serving as one of the first Co-Chairs of that Group.
Her major research interests include non- traditional risk factors for CVD in CKD patients and progression of CKD variability, as well as models of care. She has over 600 peer reviewed publications, and numerous book chapters. She is the Principal Investigator on a large national patient-oriented research network grant CAN SOLVE CKD. She collaborates with investigators across Canada and internationally.
She has received numerous teaching and research awards, from Canadian Society of Nephrology, Kidney Foundation of Canada, British Columbia Health Research Institute and is a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and, was awarded the highest civilian honour, The Order of Canada in 2015. She received the ISN Jean Hamburger Award in 2024.
Dr. Cole received his Master of Science from the University of Toronto in 1973 and his M.D. from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1975. He is a former Physician-in-Chief of UHN and previously served on the Board of Directors of The UHN Foundation. He is founder and past Chair of The Canadian Transplantation Society Kidney Working Group and past Chair of the Steering Committee for National Kidney Registries. In 2012, he received the Canadian Transplantation Society Lifetime Achievement Award. He received The Order of Canada in June, 2024.
Dr. Cole’s major research interests are in immunosuppressive drugs and clinical trials in renal transplantation with over 150 peer reviewed publications. He has been a member of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto since 1981 and is presently a staff nephrologist at The University Health Network and a Professor of Medicine at The University of Toronto
